    Project 365 2013 - A Learning Journey/Moab Man

Day 247, 2013 - Egg I know that shooting an egg on a white background is an old mainstay for teaching and learning lighting. So I decided to do just a quick shot to see some of the challenges that would be involved. The shadows quickly show me the work to do with lighting. However, the orangish...

Am I getting better? Please tell me. Photo attached.

A much better shot, huge! The perspective, like crycocyon said, looks like you're squaring off with the critter. You mentioned you could have made the face sharper. However, I think what it needed was a little post work so it didn't have that "haze" over it. The tripod of course made a huge...

Day 246, 2013 - Welcome To My Lair Headed back out to the neighbors bushes for another spider picture. I couldn't get them to come out and play so I could only shoot into the web tunnel.

Day 244, 2013 - Baby I don't like shooting people, I am really not fond of babies, but I had one on hand and decided to try and shoot the baby. WOW! Babies are really difficult. The baby seemed to instinctively know exactly where the camera was focused and would then violently yank her foot...

    Project 365 2013 - A Learning Journey/Moab Man

So clearly I'm outta touch from the way everyone else viewed my photo of the old man traveling down the sidewalk of life towards the inevitable stop sign we will all come to. My wife wearing her little pointy psychology hat explained that I just don't see death the same way as everyone else. So...

Day 242, 2013 - The Long Road Traveled I took a number of pictures tonight, some of them better or more unique pictures. However, this capture of the old man at the distant end of this long sidewalk just spoke to me and seemed symbolic of a long life. And the stop sign shrouded by the trees...

Day 241, 2013 - Mosquito and Spider with Prey Never seen a mosquito with eyelashes. This was a tough one to catch as the spider doing its thing kept moving as she took care of this mosquito.

    Lightning Shot

I have wanted to capture lightning but to date all of the thunderheads have pretty much internalized their lightning. Tonight though I finally had a late to the party chance to shoot a few shots before the rain hit. Not sure yet how I like the editing... the bluish purple or the grayer coloring...

Day 240, 2013 - Post-It Notes Riding my bicycle home from school (work) and rolled through the local high school parking lot next to my house and saw this car. I had a good laugh as I circled around it a few times having a good laugh.

Day 239, 2013 - The sunset that just didn't happen. Last nights sunset was incredible and I missed it. With the same weather tonight I set up to capture it... but it wasn't meant to be. Don't like the photo at all. I've had a rough two days. If things truly do come in three's then I should have...

    Project 365 2013 - A Learning Journey/Moab Man

Day 238, 2013 - Cell phone pictures, yuck! The most incredible sunset with this ghostly wispies hanging down absolutely glowing gold from the setting sun. These spectacular clouds went from the horizon up over and behind me. Incredible sunset to shoot with the 11mm lens. However, all I had was...

Day 237, 2013 - Bicycle Out after dusk, shooting into the shade, and at 240mm across the park. Pushed the ISO to 2000 f/4.5 1/500. Pretty happy with coming from my 55-300mm.
