Watched a Youtube interview of Don Komarechka https://www.donkom.ca/ where he talks about how he does his snowflake macro's and others - he talked briefly about the Pringle Can flash modifier. So having a urgent need to eat Pringles I had to make one and try it out. Works. Pulled out my...

    Extension tubes

Wanting to shoot better macro's. I have a 60mm and 105mm macro lens. I'm thinking of buying some extension tubes. I'm leaning towards the Kenko variety (about $150 CDN). On Amazon.ca I see there are several others on offer for about half that around $75-90 (Neewer, Cowboy Studio...

    Post your Birds in Flight

Well it was close but no cigar - this is about as close to focused as I've been able to get with BIF. And while the focus point is not on the bird it is 'close' to the same plain as the bird - had I not been at 2.8 DOF might have been a bit more forgiving.

    Post your Birds in Flight

So I put my 105 macro lens on to go shoot some flowers and maybe a bug or two. Look up and see this; call it a flyby point the camera and pull the trigger - I got what I got. Then I'm out bug hunting but so is this robin - now this is 'in flight" but very low flight it is. aint pretty...
