    Should I replace my tripod?

Nice shots. When I take falconry photos, I tend to keep my shutter speed at least 1/2000" because I tend to be extremely close to the raptor. When I'm further away, I can usually get away with 1/1600". Are you using Manual Mode with Auto ISO? When I use it, I choose my aperture and shutter...

    Should I replace my tripod?

It looks great and appears to be quite functional. If the plastic parts are a concern, you could always opt to purchase them now. I have two Gitzo tripods ... one aluminum (the one I use the most) and one carbon fiber. Both are series 2 tripods and both have plastic parts. Good luck with it!

    Woody's Vea La Luz 2023

I've found this works best for wildlife when I shoot, too. Wait ... why are you stating it in meters? Are you a UK transplant? 😄

    Should I replace my tripod?

It's probably best suited for real estate and architectural photography where precise leveling is important and where it can be used quickly and often. But it isn't a feature I'd want myself unless it was a need and I earned big bucks. No doubt there is a market for it.

    Should I replace my tripod?

This just showed up in my Facebook news feed today. A Benro self-leveling tripod that hasn't yet hit the market. Do you want a BIG step up from your Bogen Manfrotto? :)

    Should I replace my tripod?

I really like the looks of that one - especially its height! Please be sure to post your thoughts about it after you've had time to work with it.

Replace my D7100 with an D810

I misread your post - sorry, I thought you mentioned a D850. The D810 is still a stellar camera! Yeah ... I've been going to physical therapy, and one of their staff shoots Nikon. He was considering upgrading to a Sony, but I loaned him my D7200 that I had up for sale along with my FX 70-300mm...

Replace my D7100 with an D810

I was never overly thrilled with my D7100. Although it is a refurbished model (with only 39 actuations when I purchased it), I just never cared for its colors or limitations with ISO noise. My D610, D750, D7200, and D500 all outperform it. So like Fred said, I imagine a D850 would be incredible.

    Should I replace my tripod?

If you don't need the height, the Benro tripod that @Dawg Pics has been considering might be viable. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1157874-REG/benro_tad27a_adventure_aluminum_2_tripod_3.html Or the version with the 3-section legs ...

    Should I replace my tripod?

I have that tripod along with a Bogen head. The combo weighs around 10 pounds so it's pretty heavy. The tripod alone without a head is around 5 pounds. Benro makes some nice tripods. I have the Benro TMA28A which has twist locks (my preference) although it isn't as tall as the Bogen. It looks...

    hark 2023

A few more from yesterday's outing. This lake was dredged last year so it's been dry for months. When I drove by, I noticed it was filled in again with water. I stopped to take a photo of a memorial bench only to find out the bench was being restored. While there, I noticed this small...

 What one is that? The 'A' is for aluminum, the 'C' for carbon fiber. I can't find one without one of the letter designations. What about a TAD28a? That's the 3-leg section of the same model. It's about $10 more though...

I don't think Gitzo makes aluminum tripods anymore. My Gitzo is a long/tall one, not that I need that feature all the time. Back when I got the Benro, I also tried out a Benro TMA27A which has 2 leg sections vs the 3 sections of the Benro TMA28A (both have twist locks). If I remember correctly...

I have the Benro Mach3 TMA28A although I don't use it as often as my aluminum Gitzo. Benro's quality is very good, and I don't have any complaints. I wouldn't hesitate to choose another Benro as a tripod because it really is solid.

    hark 2023

Thanks, Brent. That first one is close to the road more for show-and-tell. Honestly I don't know if the other two work or not. There was an electric deer fence near the first tractor. The other two were inside the deer fence so I couldn't get close. Had to switch to my other body/lens for those...

I like the Black Rapid Cross Shot Breathe which is an ambidextrous strap. Mine came with a safety tether. If for any reason the strap's fastener comes off of the tripod foot, the safety tether will prevent the lens from going to the ground. It's a pain when changing lenses but looks like they've...
