    Z8 coming soon???

Well, it has been announced and there are plenty of Youtube videos reviewing it online now. The nickel tour is that it has the same stacked 45.7 MP sensor as the Z9. It will shoot 20 fps of full RAW up to 1000 frames. It also has a sensor shield, something I wish my mirrorless had. They are...

Recommendation of macro lens for vintage Nikon D3

l don't think I would worry too much about whether the lens is made in Japan or Thailand. I have a Z5 with the 24-70 lens which are both made in Thailand and both seem to be excellent build quality.

Fx camera on Dx mode to shoot wild life?

Right now the D850 is on sale for $2500, and shoots at 7 fps. For a $100 more you could get a Z7ii which has the same 45 mp sensor rating and 10 fps.

Trip to the Francis Beidler Forest

Well, just got back from my second trip to the forest. Not as much going on today. Unfortunately, the nest close to the deck was empty. That's where I was hoping to get some good shots at. I managed a couple of the warblers, had a barred owl pose for us, and a couple other critters. Worth the...

    Baby Z9?

For months and months, every time I pulled up to a stoplight, I kept reaching out with my left foot after getting a car with an automatic transmission. The senior in Senior Member is accurate for me.

    D7200 faster FPS

I may be old, but it gives a good idea of what the difference in card speeds will do for the D7200. From a quick perusal it looks to me like fps won't be affected by card speed until the internal buffer is full. My Z5 will only shoot at 4.5 fps, but the internal buffer will hold 100 frames...

    Baby Z9?

Yes, I've even thought about a decent crop frame DSLR. I currently own a D3400, but have a tough time going back to the optical viewfinder and only 11 AF points and lack of IBIS. I can live with the limitations of a 24MP sensor. It isn't that big a difference from my full frame IMO. I've...

    Baby Z9?

Yes, the rumors of the Z8 have been going around for a while, and it's still no show, although it's out of my price range. I would love to know what kind of price this is going to be sold for. They compare it to the Canon EOS R7 which has an MSRP of $1399. If the Z90 comes out with the rumored...

    Baby Z9?

Well the rumor mill is active with a new camera possibly coming out later this year. The name hasn't been officially announced, but word on the street is it will be called the Z90. It is rumored to be a half frame sensor, but coming in with a 33MP resolution. It will supposed sport a 15 fps...

    D7200 faster FPS

DPreview lists an increase in FPS on the specs for the D700 when using the battery grip. In their extensive specs list for the D7200 it only lists 6 FPS. This leads me to believe that it doesn't. A call to Nikon CS should give the definitive answer. DPreview D7200 DPrevie D700

Trip to the Francis Beidler Forest

I went back and looked at some and decided I probably should at least tone down the eye exposure. Here is an example. This is how I originally edited the eyes. Looks about right for most birds. Here is what I re edited to in order to bring a more natural look, but still retain some detail...

Trip to the Francis Beidler Forest

Quick question about the first photo. When processing I masked the eye and brought up the exposure to get detail. This has become almost a standard with bird pictures for me. In fact I ended up doing a second radial mask to bring the pupil back to dark as reflections came up with the exposure...
