My guess is if your Gmail is synced with Mac Mail, then you should be okay. Your Mac Mail is still checking the account regularly. Hopefully Google will send out an email ahead of time to let people know.

Just wanted to share video with a friend but want to retain the clarity of higher resolution.

You have to have signed up for a Google account such as Gmail and keep it active. Chrome browser won't qualify. I don't use Google Earth. Do you have to sign into a Google account to access Google Earth?

I don't know much of anything about burning videos, Fred. They are mp4 and are a higher resolution.

According to what I read online, to burn videos additional software is required. However, for data files etc I don't think it is necessary. It didn't work ... well, it burned the disc but the sound wasn't in sync with the video. The first atttmpt wouldn't even burn. The files are between 1-2GB...

Anyone who uses a Google account whether for email or something else should note that Google might start deleting inactive accounts by December. This isn't a Nikonite thing unless you use a Google Gmail account to log in...
