    Got my Z8

I'm a year and a half out on my Z5, and still discovering new things in the menus and features that may be useful to me. I'm sure there's a lot more in the Z8 menus.

    Toggle AF-C and AF-S on Z6ii

On my Z5, I need to do the same thing when shooting birds as I sometimes need one mode for perched birds, and another for birds in flight. I programmed U3 for still bird settings with AF-S, small focus point and U2 for birds in flight with AF-C and auto focus point, as well as a higher shutter...

    Autumn Colours

We would be happy to send some of our summer to you. Here it starts sometime in May and ends sometime in October. You can have July and August without any quarrel whatsoever. Temps in the 90s nearly every day. We are just now getting a slight taste of fall with highs in the low to mid 80s.

    Macro at Cypress Gardens

ClovisPup wanted to try some macro today, so we both went to Cypress Gardens. I let her use the flash, so I had to take everything available light. After all the shooting I've done strictly with flash, it was a challenge. Didn't come home with nearly as many, but it definitely was a learning...

    Macro at Cypress Gardens

I'm making a habit of this. Of course, things will necessarily slow down with the cooler weather in another month or two.

    Macro at Cypress Gardens

I was actually somewhat cool this morning. No sweating rivers while trying to take pictures. Unfortunately, there weren't as many bugs out. Although they did become more active as the morning wore on. I discovered a beautiful narrow trail winding between swamps. I really enjoyed the scenery, but...

    New ver 1.41 firmware

Thanks for the heads up. Firmware installed, although at the rate I'm going right now, I don't run much risk of leaving my Z5 off for an extended period.

    Greetings from Bellevue, Nebraska

Welcome. I spent a few years in Omaha back in the late 70s. I don't think you will regret the Z5 purchase. I've had one for about a year and a half, and have really enjoyed using it. The Z lenses are fabulous.

Post your focus stacking photos here

When you figure out how to hypnotize them let me know, lol! Well, first you need a very small pocket watch on a chain.

Post your focus stacking photos here

Have you tried hypnosis? Seriously, you just have to find a bug that doesn't like moving around that much. Some species are more mobile than others, bees and wasps fit into that category. I have yet to have a bee stay still enough to even think about focus stacking. Others, seem to stay put...

Close to buying the nikon z5

I have the Z5 with the 24-70 F4. I am quite happy with it. I'm sure that it would do the job just fine for what you intend to use it for, but I think BF Hammer makes some good points. If you plan on using it professionally, I wouldn't skimp on the equipment, if you can afford it.
