    Leopard in Tree

Not my best leopard in tree shots due to the distance and lighting but the most recent, taken 3 weeks ago on safari. Still one of favorite big cats to capture D850 200-400 f4 400mm iso 720 1/800 f6.3

    Focused Lion

This young male came right to me. I ended up having to switch from my 200-400 to a shorter zoom lens as he was moving closer D850 28-300mm 1/1000 f5.6 300mm iso 400

    Silver Back Jackal

Something different from my usual big cats. Jackals tend to be quite skittish and spend a lot of time running around (mostly on the roads) as they sniff out scavenger opportunities. This one posed for a few shots Nikon D850 200-400 f4 340mm 1/800 f 5.6 iso 1600

    Buffalo Studies

Some of my favorite moments of a subject that isnt always the most exciting. These are taken over several photo safaris, hence the different lighting, conditions, locations and gear. D810, D850, 200-400 f4, 200-500 5.6 In the 200-400 mm range

On the Prowl (the forgotten files)

I took quite a few shots of this lioness coming through the grass. Initially I just glanced and didnt even rate the imported files. I had others with clear lions, kills, action shots etc that caught my attention. It wasnt until at least 8 months later just revisiting lion images did I take a...

    Cape Buffalo - Trio

Its challenging to get an interesting group composition with many animals especially Cape Buffalo. I just happened to come across these 3 and couldn't resist grabbing a few frames. D850 200-400 f4 1/800 f4.5 iso 160 400mm

    Zebra time

Haven't seen this too often. The zebra are hungry for salt and other minerals so lick the soil upturned in the creation of termite mounds (instead of trying to dig up mud themselves) Z5 28-300 f5.6 300mm 1/800 iso 400

    Lion vs Hyena

These lions were with a buffalo kill when the hyenas started appearing. They soon got tired of them getting too close and this scene unfolded in a few seconds. I decided to exclude the most graphic pictures of the hyena ripping the lions jaw. Its on my site in the gallery if you want to see it...
