Solved: S9900 remote shutter release options

Yes, if you are shooting changing subjects, the timer method doesn't work. It's more for landscapes and other non moving subjects. And this might be where the WMU may be the best option for you, if you can't see the subject. The app will display what your camera sees on your phone, even if you...

Solved: S9900 remote shutter release options

If all you are looking for is minimizing vibration on a tripod, just use the timer. Set it for the shortest time and hit the shutter, then take your hand off the camera. By the time it counts down the vibration should be gone and it will trip the shutter. Try the WMU and see if it suits you.

Solved: S9900 remote shutter release options

Glad it worked for you. I found that a cheap wired remote did everything I needed without going through the setup routine of Snapbridge. Of course, I don't really need to have any distance between myself and the camera, and don't need to remotely see what the camera is seeing at the time. I can...

Solved: S9900 remote shutter release options

I have no personal experience with this camera, but I have connected several of my DSLR and Z cameras using snapbridge. I don't think the S9900 has bluetooth capability, so you probably will have to using Nikon WMU app. Here is the link for the WMU for Android: Nikon WMU download And here is...

    Dominique’s old stones (mostly)

My wife used to do genealogy research, and it was amazing how many families lost so many children. Not uncommon for a family to lose several children within a week or two due to an illness going around. A lot of people romanticize about earlier times. I wouldn't want to have to do without...

    Clovis' Nikon Nuggets

My buddy needed me to drive him up to Columbia. I dragged the Pup along with me and we visited the zoo. This is the first time I've been there since I've had my long lens and more experience with shooting wildlife. Not that you can necessarily tell from these, but they definitely look better to...

    Post Your Automotive Shots!

Local plantation/gardens had a special Christmas event. They invited the local Model A club again this year. Unfortunately, I didn't think to put my polarizing filter on until halfway through shooting. Had to do a sky replacement on a couple to balance out the sky.

    Image Space question

You can always download it to your computer then post it. A little cumbersome, but easily doable. I keep all my backups on either external hard drives, or thumb drives. I have an aversion to online storage. Other folks don't have an issue with online storage.

    Nikon sb 5000 speed light

You can also calculate stops from that power. 1/2 power is 1 stop less than 1/1. 1/4 power is 2 less than 1/1, and so on.

Post Your Black and Whites Photos!!

I was just up the road in Johnson City Tenn around that time. That's 1977, not 1937. I was just getting started with a second hand Praktica and a small darkroom in the spare room. I wasn't turning out anything of this quality at the time.

Vote for Weekly Photo Challenge Nov 27th - Dec 3rd "Shooters Choice"

Thanks all. This place has been a favorite spot to shoot this fall. This was my first visit here at sunset and I was a little disappointed by the time we packed up and headed home. There turned out to be a handful of decent images that I overlooked on my first perusal of the day's work. I am...

    Lens help ?

I do bird photography when the insects aren't available, or the birds are just too interesting to ignore. I use the 200-500 Nikon adapted to one of my Z full frame bodies. It is an excellent lens for the money. Reasonably fast, very sharp, albeit a bit heavy, although that is the price you pay...

    Lens help ?

Keep in mind that a 55-300 will not give you anything in the wide angle area. The D7500 has a crop frame sensor and a common "normal" zoom that goes from moderate wide angle to short telephoto is usually in the 18-55mm range. Yes, they make wide angle to much longer telephoto lenses, such as the...
