I took this Blue Heron today about one hour ago.

This is a Great White Egret that I shot yesterday. It was some distance away and this has been cropped considerably.
Taken with my Nikon D7000 and a Nikon 70-300VR lens.

This picture was taken with the same camera and lens of the same bird from the same distance as the first shot so you can see how much the previous shot was cropped.

I have some very exciting news to share with everyone. This is a brochure that will be distributed along the Gulf Coast and they will be printing up 25,000 copies. The exciting part is that the picture of the lighthouse and the visitor center is one of my pictures and will have "Photo by Jeff Impey" on the picture.


This is what the front and back cover will look like. They will be adding a photo credit in the grassy area on the picture.

Thanks everyone for you support! I was surprised when they contacted me about using my photo, they found it on my website and got in touch with me to get my OK. It sure is nice to have friends to share happenings like this with.
