He enjoyed it with a nice Mud Espagnole sauce, yuck!After catching a fish, this Great Blue Heron noticed that the twenty or so nearby Pelicans were quite interested and started moving toward him with theft in mind. The heron walked quickly, then ran, then flew to the shore where the Pelicans decided not to continue the chase, and the GBH was able to enjoy the meal.

Maybe he was just training them to cut up their own food. Yes son, this is what you are going to have to do from now on, get use to it.Usually Great Blue Herons swallow the fish they catch whole, then regurgitate it in the nest for the babies. In this case, the big old catfish this GBH caught just wouldn't go down the hatch, so he carried it in his beak and delivered it to the nest.
