Thoughts on micro lenses, specially the Nikon 60mm f/2.8G

Thank you for your comments. the closest focussing distance for this lens is 7.4 inches. I bought this lens after going through a lot of reviews, it was being praised for its sharpness, creamy bokeh and of course value for money. With a crop factor of 1.5 (or 1.6?) on my D80, it doubles up as an excellent portrait lens also. You can go through some of the reviews, especially from the users.
Keep shooting!

I am bidding like crazy on the sigma 105 and a nikkor 60, will see if I can capture one of them, I really want a lens to get close up without so much crop.

Very sharp and close!

Thanks Yidel. Have not touch this lens in months.
If not for this thread, I could have forgotten to play around with it.
I use it mainly for food and product photography.

And by the way. this was taken on manual setting @ full.
Thats why it s closer compared to auto AF.

Used off ebay, this will make 3 of my lenses I've gotten there, and 1 from adorama and one from B&H. There was one other sigma 105 I was watching and it went for 310.

My sigma 105 2.8 came in today, lens looks and operates as new. Wind is gusting to about 50 mph out side so really haven't had a chance to work with it much, will advise when I've had a chance to use it and post some picks.

Hi Bill. Any sample shots from the Sigma 105? Just curious about the performance of this glass.

Nothing to post up yet, I have played with it a little indoors, focused up close on a penny and that was cool but not worth posting. Maybe this weekend I'll see something to shoot.
