SCORE! Thanks, Craigslist!

Every once in a while, Craigslist has a real deal. Today, I picked up these gems:

FG%20Post.jpg

Nikon FG, 50/1.8 Series E, a Five-Star 70-200/4.5, Nikon SB-15 speedlight and a CPC case.

All for a whopping fifty bucks! I think the camera will need new seals, but so far it all seems to be working.

Happy birthday to me!

Yes, it really is.

I had gotten a new Dell XPS 8900 about a month ago. Love the PC, but hated the keyboard. Since I touch type, the Dell keyboard sucked, I was continually getting typing errors due to total lack of feel. I just got this new Microsoft Keyboard 600 and love it already. I can now again touch type accurately. Microsoft sucks in a lot of ways, but they do know how to make a decent keyboard.

Soooo I have wanted to get a boom arm for my strobe for a while but have never properly looked into getting one, I was looking at a couple on Amazon, the first one (pics below) looked good but it was made of plastic and with the weight of the counterweight and the strobe with softbox on I didnt really trust the mount. This could have easily been sorted it the manufacturer (Andoer) made it out of Metal.

So I went back to Amazon and saw that Neewer made one! but instead of it being mounted on a lightstand I already had, it was an all in one so I purchased it. Overall I am very happy the mechanism is all metal and feels very sturdy.

Here is the new one. Apologies for the mess I have just moved and still sorting :D

Was going back and forth on the Sigma and the Tamron and decided that as I rarely stop down to 2.8 these days I would save £300 and go with the Sigma, coming from MPB should be with me by tuesday :)

Let me know how that works for you Mike. I have a similar problem. I do not like keeping the camera attached to the monopod. With my cane it gets busy. It is fine if I am more stationary like a family event or sports, but more difficult when walking.

Been there, done that. Using this on a mono pod is next to impossible. Way too unstable. And you'll need a third arm, at least, to keep everything steady while taking a shot. If you want. I'll gladly send you mine to try.
