OOPS!!! Yes Pete and Jeff. It IS a Dandelion. I was just testing to see if y'all were on your toes.

Actually, just prior to the posting, I was involved in a discussion regarding a Daffodil competition that will be starting here and a group that were going to photograph it. I guess I had Daffodil on the brain. I got the first two letters spelled right though.

Day Ninety Six

Before you comment, YES! This IS a photograph. I took a photo of my monitor here at work. I am positive this is not a Daffodil or a Dandelion. I just figured this would put an end to all the speculation that the world would end before the contest was over.

Anyone who believes that the world is gonna end because some man or woman in an ancient or modern time said so is a blooming fool. Like PT Barnum said "there is a sucker born every minute"

Day Ninety Seven

Thought about going out and trying to catch a moonrise, but after a long day at work, and a trip with one of the dogs to the vet, I'm just too darn tired to pack the gear and go out.

Wife has been working on "Easter" for the Grandkids, and here's some of her work. Each egg is filled with candy. Their parents are soooo going to kill us.

Day Ninety Eight

Took the drive down to Richmond (90 minutes or so) to visit my parents. Dad 91 and mom 86. Got this picture of Miss Muffet, a toy poodle. She's my sister's dog but she adopted Dad instead. It was a pretty day and everyone was out playing in the yard.

Triple Digits finally!

A little culture now. This is the Library of Congress Audio-Visual Conservation center. Believe it or not, this building used to be completely underground. It was origianally built back in the 50s as a Safe Haven for Congress and staff in case of the Big KABOOM! Most of it is still underground, but shortly after 2000 they began excavating the upper floors and adding windows. They archive all the old film, video and audio recordings. They even have showings of old movies now and then Free with a reservation.

My numbering is starting to become tedious, but I started this way so I’ll continue this way.

Picked up this book a few weeks back, decided it’s time to try learning about what I can do with photoshop. I guess the best place to start is page ONE.

Judging from the plants on the walls they should have some SERIOUS moisture problems...

I don't think the Ivy will be a problem. The structure was originally designed to withstand the Big Kaboom everyone feared in the 50's and 60's. They are easily more than a foot thick. Even when the structure was completely underground, the humidity/moisture was carefully controlled. The Ivy was planted two years ago is will eventually cover the exterior walls.

Hey Mike,
You'll have to give a review on this book. I haven't seen this one but with your post I've very interested. Keep me posted on what you think as you go along. My next class, in fact, is in Adobe Photoshop. I'll share what I learn as well. :-D

Day One Hundred Four

Here's a hot wheels truck for wonder bread. My younger sister gave it to me back in 1976. She got it at work. She worked at Contental Baking Co. as a secretary... To this day, I still insist that she was really a Twinkie Stuffer.

Day One Hundred Five

Had one of the grandkids overnight so NO computer time. That's why yesterday's photo is being posted today.
Dakota (up close and personal). Shot this one just a half second before she tried to lick the lens.
