I probably will never do portraits simply because you have to have an interest in people to make good portraits. I am more PERSON oriented than PEOPLE oriented.

To be a good abstract artist, you have to be able to visualize your feelings. Most of my life I have had to hide and suppress MY feelings. A still life is just plain boring to me.

But I am able to pull up a landscape in my minds eye and paint it. I am working on getting the finer details down and to add a lot more depth so that my landscape will go on

for-ever. Ain't there yet, but I will be. :)

Keep on this "side" pal, evevn it is a dark and gloomy period. Here young people have no jobs, no future, not even a worthwhile leadership. But what the heck, we never lose our humour! About the ear, you can cut it do a self portrait painting, and then reattach it with super glue!
(Sidenote: People say that in other countries when something is broken they take it to the company dealer to replace it, here in Greece we reattach it with super glue! Super glue is the cure for everything! :p)

I know its early, but when you have to paint, you HAVE to paint!

I took a lot of artistic license with Helene's last post and just ran with it.

I know the trees aren't the same and her shot does not have the stars, but considering that I have absolutely no talent whatsoever

I think the end result is passable. :)

And if super glue won't do it we break out the duct tape!!! LOL

I feel for you guys over there in Greece but I think Greece may be but the first of many countries who are in serious trouble...perhaps even the good old USA...

Pete you make me want to go out and buy a box of paints...
