I shot the last series of three posts at 1/800, f7.1, iso 200, which, here in SoCal on a sunny late-it-the-day, is my normal walk about. I had a good afternoon sun behind me and full on the birds. The previous few, at 1/200 later in the evening, I had my 700 flash set at manual 1/4 power and diffuser, which I don't like to use as it distorts the color and bright-spots the eyes. I was about 10 feet away for all of them.
Thank you for starting this forum and for all presented very nice hummingbird photos.
All hummingbirds are fascinating object of photography.
Here, I attached several of my pictures as a small contribution to this nice forum.
Best regards to all.

So you are using flash? I guess that is what stops the wing action a bit then.
I wish my focusing was that "bad"A few more of the sameness, I'm afraid. It was breezy tonight and I had a terrible time getting focus.
