Then, tomorrow afternoon, the doctor is going to insert a Toyota up my butt. I'm hoping it's a Prius and not an Avalon.

Not sure exactly what it is you are taking, but with most of those gut clearing things, if you also drink a heap of water it will work much better. Dr's really appreciate a return that looks like the water that went in. Far better than wading around in the murk :D

Actually, I just turned 65. I had one of these exams in 2003 and was told to get another one in 10 years. It's a routine exam and I'm not expecting any problems.

With the ability to control colon cancer, everyone should consider a colonoscopy at the proper age your doctor chooses. They use general anesthesia and you don't feel a thing. An ounce of prevention is worth a lot of piece of mind. And it could save your life. Just like prostate exams..... they ain't fun, but they work.

TIP: While waiting for the prep to work, don't sit in a comfy chair that's hard to get out of in a hurry.

Here they do NOT put you under. They give you happy gas and I spent the whole time exploring composition and angles on camera with the poor shit stirrer. I loved it (and was in the clear, despite a family history). I still have no idea what drives someone to be a proctologist.
