Very nice shots! Pretty cool work by a blind... Don't think I could do it so perfectly.

Thankful that Daylight Savings Time allowed me to finish work and still have light and warmth (we hit 60 today!!) at the end of a long workday.

This was a bit of a surprise. I wanted to capture the bubbles as my wife poured, but my D800 was in AF-C mode and when I reviewed my images I noticed it would flash back and forth between focusing on the bubbles and the reflection. Time for some unplanned focus stacking. Amazing how easy Photoshop makes that whole process.

Stopped in a local second hand shoppe that I've wanted to stop in for a while but I've never been there when they were open. Couldn't have set things up better had I been in a studio.

Another game of (with) Chess

Shot details - single 3 second exposure w/ 16-35mm zoom, zooming from all the way in (35mm) to all the way out (16mm) during the exposure, allowing for burn-in at each end.

Started with an idea and got sidetracked over some focus breathing issues and never had the opportunity to get back to it after running errands. The shots I did get were not suitable for what I wanted to do, so I decided to take the opportunity to try and apply some of the things I've been learning about filters and blend modes.

For the curious, this is a single image, sliced and diced into what wound up being 9 or 10 layers, including initial light adjustments (6 when all was said and done, preserving the original background and texture layers for later tweaking). Original looked like this...

Thanks, Kevin. I have another that I'm still working from the same session that I want to turn into a tutorial on stacking images and blending modes. When I have time. LOL

Stepped away from the chess set and into Home Depot.

Closest I've come thus far to getting something to "tile" - and I didn't mean to be punny

Just before I rearranged them into their precise latitude and longitude.

I was on the fence about this post...

(insert witty pun about brushing it off here)...

Wow, great idea Jake, take the camera to the hardware store. Funny, I would have never thought about it as I am usually in and out trying to get a project done.

I really need to play with focus staking, but its kind of on the back burner for now.

A lot going on in this one, and I may need to rethink and re-tweak before putting it in the monthly deal, but I wanted to get this up early as I'm going to be out of pocket for a bit.

If for some reason you don't see pics from me for a couple days, fear not - I'll be shooting, but may not get to import them right away.
