Had to process 2800 marathon pictures all week.I just didn't have time to pick up the camera till yesterday for a senior pic shoot. I went out today and used live view to shoot macro. I'm liking it!037.jpg043 (800x533).jpg046 (800x533).jpg

I was out playing with my new 55-200 taking some flower picks. Discovered this little beastie on the top of a Nandina domestica bloom when I got the shots home

Received my macro rings today. It rained no-stop so didn't get a chance to try them out. Fortunately at 6pm as I was finishing work the rain ended and I found this little guy.

40mm Micro with 12+20mm rings. Interesting days ahead with the rings and the Raynox :couple_inlove:

Came across this tiny spider today. It's just an ordinary garden spider but what was impressive was its size. From the end of its front legs to the back of its body it was about 3mm long. Only noticed it because it was lurking on a white curtain. Taken with the 40mm and 12+20mm tubes, I am getting so close now that even the macro flash is having difficulty lighting the subject.

Are you using diffusers on your macro flash?

Not yet. I'm looking into using them. Problem now is that, unless I take a top view, the flash is actually touching the surface the insect is sitting on. Makes side-on shots virtually impossible.

Hmm ok, I am guessing there is no adjustment in your flash! To bring it back behind your lens.
