I am not sure about this picture and my aperture, should I have gone for another setting? I chose f/4 to get the background blurred out, but I would have liked it even more blurred, but with 2 dogs running, I wasnt sure that I could cover them both with lower aperture?

Hmm, seems like the upload stole some of the colors.

At 200mm you probably could have dropped to 2.8 and still been ok. But even in the shot you have there is a pretty limited DOF. Look at the grass.

I like the shot. The dogs are beautiful.

2.8? Really? Ill try that. Yes, the dof are quite limited, that was why I went for f/4.

And thank you :)

Nice. Not sure that you would need to blow out the background more. The dogs stand out with their beautiful fur against the dull background anyhow. They really are what catches my eye when i look at the photo.

Truthfully, I wouldn't change a thing. Perfect as is, IMO, enough limited dof to focus attention on the dogs, who are gorgeous!

I think it is great! You captured tons of detail in the white and have great smooth roll off there which is the hardest thing for digital cameras to do. Well done very good!

Agreed. DOF appears spot-on to me.

Are you thinking the bokeh could be more attractive, maybe, versus simply wanting more OF it? You might get me to go along with that, but that was beyond your control and changing the fStop/DOF, obviously, won't help with that either. IMO, you nailed the shot. Be happy!

Oh! Thank you so much. I was actually a bit nervous about posting for critique... I will be happy about the shot, and try to get it again. Aaaand maybe try to see what will happen with 2.8 :)

Nice shot and I agree with those who like it as is, not really much I would change, either. Your DoF is fine, any less and you might risk keeping both dogs in focus. Good job! And if you're looking for additional blur and/or bokeh, toss it on PS and use the iris blur filter.

Just a great shot, taken at the absolute right moment. Great timing on both dogs.

Yes, one thing is camera setting, the other one is capturing them on the right time, lol. They look pretty funny with weight on their front legs!

Got these as well from yesterday:

This one is funny. This little guy knows a trick or two, and sometimes he figures out, that if he want a piece of my sandwich he just gotta do a trick. To do this trick, I've always raised my hand up in the air. So a couple of times when I have been talking on the phone, he thinks Im asking him to sit like this - and sometimes I dont notice him doing it because he is behind me, not until I turn and trips over him :p
