The chair was the most accessible artifact there, and the most compelling. There are 4 structures on the site, and this was in the only one with a concrete floor. The condition of the rest dictated that I didn't step foot into the building, shooting only thru windows and doorways. I may return with a dust mask and a friend, just to try and get into the kitchen area. The floors in the rest of the house are nonexistent, so I don't know how much I'd trust them to hold weight. The property has a for sale sign on it and I'm planning on calling to check on whether they would allow me access, and to check on whether any interiors floors are navigable.

Here are a couple other angles of the chair.

Really cool! Odd to have a cinder block structure added on to the main building... Must have been where they kept the crazy family members. :)

Where is this?

It's at Rte's 57 & 519 just outside of Phillipsburg, NJ. As you can see in the attached Google Maps image, there's a building just off the road that had to serve as a farm stand of sorts at some point, which is why I was somewhat amazed to find an old TV and this chair in there. I'm guessing it was a squat of sorts at some point in its existence. I've literally passed this place hundreds of times in 21 years out here, and only recently gave it a good hard look when I saw a couple cars parked out front and a new "For Sale" sign on the front of the cinder block building. The silo across the street is pretty interesting as well. I've still got photos to get thru.

Here's one from the farm house that could have used a steadier hand. In color there just wasn't much I could do with it, so I moved it into Silver Efex Pro 2 and tried to give it a tired old look. Still not sure, but like it better with a little additional blur from Photoshop.

Now that is just a little creepy. Hopefully there were not the skeletal remains of the shoes' owner nearby... Sorry, been watching too many crime drama shows lately. :)

Cleaning up some folders last night I realized I never finished going through shots I took at last year's Blast Furnace Blues Festival in Bethlehem, PA.

Took the opportunity to catch the famous old Red Mill in Clinton, NJ in the snow yesterday. Beautiful little town.

And a nicely recycled old wooden canoe...
