Hi Cal, I love my D5000 got it for Christmas so I'm still learning to use it. I'm also just really getting into photography, although I've always enjoyed taking pictures. This was my first trip to the coast in 10 years, but will going back late winter or early spring. I'd forgotten how much I loved the ocean. I want to try and photograph the lighthouse at night. I bet the pictures of the lighthouse thru the fog are very cool. I was up in Canada last summer. I have a friend that lives in Richmond and we went camping in the mountains around there. I'm hopingto get to Baniff and Casper next summer. I've heard it's great up there. now that I've figured out how to post pictures I plan to add a couple more albums from my travels this summer. Hi Barb. Your shots of the Oregon Coast bring back great memories. You shot of Heceta Head lighthouse from near Sea Lion caves hit the jackpot. Heceta Head is my all time favorite lighthouse and I have many shots of it. The last time I was there a forest fire was raging over in Central Oregon and the high smoke blew back towards the coast which gave my shots an eerie look to them. Almost like a partial eclipse of the sun. When I came through there several weeks later the fog was so thick I could not see the lighthouse. I hiked over to it from the beach below and got some great shots. I took several shots of Heceta through the fog on the hill just behind the lighthouse. Have you had a chance to do any work up in Victoria B. C. since you do not live that far away. How do you like your d 5000. I am seriously looking at the d 3100 when it comes out later this month..
