It is quite possible that the discovery they're calling "one for the history books" could be the big one!! The data is coming from the SAM unit on Curiosity and is the unit that would be the one expected to find signs of life. Unfortunately they're not going to make an announcement until they're 100% certain it's not a fluke. Here is one of many articles about the yet to be announced discovery (see HERE) but there is also a follow up article HERE that seems to be downplaying the discovery...a little bit, at least.

Out of curiosity, I've made a poll to see how many people believe Curiosity will find signs that life exists or once existed on Mars

There was a race called Politicians on Mars. They taxed the hard working Martians to death, the rest all died off because nobody was willing to work to produce food (after generations of welfare and living off the hard workers). They then colonized earth and here we are on the brink of financial destruction.

Sheryl Crow " I swear they're out there"

I believe without a doubt, that there's not just past life, but current alternative life somewhere. The odds are way too great for there not to to be

I wish i could just live long enough to make their aquaintence, and chew the fat over a cold frothy one

Of course there is life on Mars! Rick is right on! (Follow-up to post #2)

There were enough tax-collectors who had stashed their ill-gotten gains on Saturn, to completely re-fashion Mars into an Underground Planet. Plutonians ( Ancient Nikonian descendants) were conscripted to drill into Mars and create vast caverns and tunnels so that future generations could thrive. The first primitive cameras were invented here.

They exist today to send Uiyte-op87y signals to DSLR camera sensors. Once in a while, a sensor imprints a red, or blue, or gray line on images produced by that camera. This is a coded message for the specially-gifted descendants that were part of the original colonization of earth. Only Nikon sensors are sensitive enough to receive these signals.

They are thick up there. You bet.

We all know there has (at one time) been life on Mars. I was was talking with a buddy who accidently (on purpose) leaked me a photo taken by Curiosity. I'll attach it here as Proof.

Well if you don't believe that at one time there was life on Mars then you probably don't believe that humans and chimpanzees are related...

Methane gas present is what I bet. Something in the soil. Could it be....OIL maybe....hummm...

And you all thought the Alberta Sands were unfeasible.

There is some conjecture among scientists that the origin of Cretaceous rocks in Alberta could possibly, maybe, be alien. A recent study of the Athabasca oil sands rocks suggested that a comparison to rocks to those found elsewhere on earth had "otherworldy" qualities. Difference in "depth of the field" did not allow for a clarification of specific differences. Oddly enough, a thin green line appeared on screens of all instrumentation during tests.

Origin of this unusual occurance was narrowed down to Mars, Calgary, somewhere in Oklahoma, or the Southern UK.

One can follow the progress of this study from the O.O.I.M. (Office Of Important Matters), recently approved of funding by the U.S. Senate.

Oops! Gotta go, there is a White Van in the driveway with flashing lights, and someone knocking on the door......
