Anyone else a Coffee Freak? Good espresso? I heard coffee is endangered.

I heard that coffee growing, and coffee in general, will be come more scarce and expensive in the near future. I am an espresso addict and I would really miss good coffee, either by it not being available, or priced out of range. The article reported that coffee will become more like fine wines, rather than a commodity. Heaven forbid that only instant crystals will be all we have.

What do you drink? Favorite brand? Special recipe? Equipment?

Here's mine. Saeco Automatic with a 6-bean Espresso Blend from Coffee Bean Direct. The machine grinds the beans, pre-brews, and delivers a pre-determined size of coffee... large, regular (Italian), and espresso shot. Hmmmmmm..... espresso.

Definately a coffee head ! Bucking the old trend that brits all drink tea, all day long :)

I dont have the luxury of an Espresso machine, but still keep fresh ground filter coffee in the kitchen. Has to be strength 4 or 5

I don't function without my caffeine intake! This is the first thing that gets turned on in the morning.....morning being a relative term, since I'm retired! ;) My favourite coffee is Folgers Regular Roast at home. On the road, it's definitely Tim Horton's, affectionately known as Timmies. :)

I can relate. I have the equivalent of 6 of the cups in my photo every morning. Sometimes a couple more, but never less. Once in a while, I'll have a good strong espresso, or two, in the afternoon. :untroubled:

I can't imagine life w/o coffee. That sheepherder, or whomever it was that discovered the coffee bean, should be celebrated with parades and song.

Supposedly, when the Crusaders occupied Turkey (general area), they found piles of what they thought was Camel dung. They ordered it burned until a resident stopped them and explained what coffee was. A Polish man introduced coffee to Europe via Austria and the rest is history. Also, all the coffee bean trees in South America came from one single tree that was brought to the region by the European regional governor.

Coffee Trivia.

I didn't drink any coffee until I was 21 years old. As a cop, I only drank coffee to stay awake on third-shift. Eventually, I got to like it. I like my coffee like my cameras...... strong and black.

I like mine strong and black as well. I have my three cup transfusion every morning. If I do have the regular store bought coffee then it is Folgers Black Silk. Nothing better than good fresh ground beans though.
