Clovis' Nikon Nuggets 2026

I guess it's time to switch to a new year's thread. Unfortunately, things were a little slow at Magnolia yesterday. Early morning was very low light, and the critters were not as cooperative as I'd have liked. "Mama said there'll be says like this. There'll be days like this, Mama said."

This was a portent of things to come for the day.

Cold and foggy at Magnolia today. Fog stuck around all morning, which made shooting difficult, and the birds weren't as active as usual.

Bad hair day.

Did I mention it was cold and foggy? And, yes, this is a color image. It was just a gray day.

This was my favorite of the day. Looks a little like a studio portrait. That's likely because of the background and soft lighting.

This tern patiently posed for me. Let me get within about 10 feet from it.

I like the little gull. He almost looks stuffed and posed, he is so cute. And I love how the background makes him stand out.

Like I said, there were lots and lots of ibises.

And this guy keeping an eye on things. I took several shots of this with different focus points, but PS couldn't make head or tails of it in a focus stack, so I just erased the out of focus moon, and copy and pasted the in focus.
