Well...having lived in the south all my life, my wife and I have been in North Carolina for the last 28+ years. I am a Presbyterian pastor who is too young to retire but old enough that I can begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel! While there are many things about me that drive my wife crazy...one thing in particular is that I love learning and doing new things. Which leads to way to many hobbies. I am a cyclist, a woodworker, a very amateur astronomer, a sailor (though we recently sold our boat), love camping, hiking, sewing, and playing the guitar. Oh...and I love photography!!!

In photography I carry my "tradition" of loving to try new things. Probably the majority of my shots are landscape, I love trying new areas. I have enjoyed searching for and photographing old barns and abandoned buildings...but only from the outside. I am also trying to learn/develop skill at photographing cars...though that is in theory more than practice right now.

My main camera is a Nikon D5600 but I keep a Nikon D3000 in my jeep for those unexpected opportunities.

I look forward to learning from everyone here and enjoying what you share.

I'm with you on the way too many hobbies. I started out with photography, my Dad's big passion, and moved on to SCUBA diving, woodworking, target shooting, and now back to photography. One great thing is this is something I can share with my daughter.

Try a bunch of different genres and at some point, you should find your niche. Mine seems to be wildlife/nature, with a related field of macro.

Look forward to seeing some of your work.
