File size of images and videos

Hello



I have some questions for the settings of the Z8 camera which I recently bought.


1. How can I shoot videos in FX 8256x4644; 60p? It is greyed out, I cannot choose it in the menu no matter which video file type I choose.

2. When I shoot DX 5392x3032; 60p, the files are very small not 6k, why?

3. I set the camera to shoot RAW files, the image size setting are greyed out. Why? The files size is very small.

4. DX is flashing, why? I want to shoot FX!

I can't help with all of the questions, as I don't shoot video.

3. When you shoot in RAW, you get the full raw data from the sensor, so you get the full sized image. While I suppose they could allow you to use cropped image sizes, they may have decided that anyone wanting to shoot in RAW mode probably wants the best quality available, and therefore only full sized. Not sure whether it will allow RAW with a DX lens mounted.

4. The DX flashing it because you have a crop sensor "DX" lens attached, and it is alerting you that you are in crop mode. You can turn off the alert, but you can't shoot full sensor with a crop sensor lens. A "DX" lens won't cover the entire sensor area without vignetting. If you want to shoot in FX mode, you will have to use a full frame lens. Some folks would like to make the decision themselves, as some DX lenses may provide a good bit more coverage of the sensor than the crop frame area. Nikon has decided not to offer that option.
