Needa is probably just trying to attract insects, using native wild plants, in order to get some good insect macro shots.
Sounds like a good reason to me.
Hey, I just got through digging up a section of grass in my backyard in order to do a fall planting of wildflowers to have them ready to shoot out of the ground next spring for my macro work. I had a lot of fun with the rather small section of wildflowers I had in the backyard over this past summer.

Thanks. Unfortunately the best light was at the furthest point from me so the large crop. Posted a close pass in the aircraft thread but most of the light is on the front.Love the light and colours
