Some shots from a park I stopped at for lunch. I'm always looking out for neat places like this when I drive around for my job.

I should probably take some pictures of the aircraft on static display at the AFB. I just realized I don't have any digital pictures of the C-141 that I spent almost 2 decades flying as a Loadmaster on. They have one on display, and I probably loaded that individual aircraft several times. Unfortunately, 24mm is as wide as I have. That 15mm would come in handy for an image of this kind.

While in the AF Reserves, I was the squadron photographer as an additional duty. Most of the time that was just taking pictures of folks at awards ceremonies and retirements. I remember getting some shots of our crew on an unplanned humanitarian mission. They wanted some of my photos for the newsletter/magazine for the wing. Unfortunately, the upshot of it was one of the guys had a mustache that was out of limits and we all got a dressing down for that, despite the fact we did a great job of creating some good will with another country. Since I spoke Spanish, I was elected to give one of the local Air Force big wigs, a tour of the aircraft. My neighbor swore she saw me on a national news spot shaking hands with some of the local dignitaries. I had a great time flying around the world during the 80s and 90s.

@Marilynne Really I am posting right between the Battle of Midway and D-Day in Normandy. :)

@Clovishound Would love to let you at the Zeiss 15mm, but I love it too much to let it out of my sight! That is not lens-correction filters being used to straighten the images, it's the optical field-flattener in the lens. I still cannot believe I found it used at my local camera store for hundreds less than a used 14-24mm f/2.8 would have been priced at. Manual focus, but at that focal length who truly needs AF? I was nearly standing under the Huey and just about under the M-60 gun.

Well, if I really want to try ultra wide angle, I can borrow the Pup's 10-20mm DX lens. I would have to mount it with my FTZ and put the Z7ii in crop frame mode. With the 45mp sensor, I would still get very close to the 24mp I'm used to with the Z5.

I don't often want to shoot ultra wide, but when I do..................

You can always take a few shots and stitch them together like a pano.
