Arrange pictures by lens model?

Anyone know a quick and easy way to search pictures by lens model and/or focus length

I want to organise my pictures by the lens I shot them with.

Windows explorer lets you add a 'focal length' column so it's kind of easy to sort out which pics I took with my 18-55mm & 55-200mm lens (anything 49mm and less and 51-54mm will have been taken with the former, and anything 56mm and over with the later).
However, I have a 50mm lens which of course 'intereferes' with the easy filtering in Windows Explorer.

I know ViewNX2 lets you see lens info so could filter from there, but you have to check per image, where as Explorer is more a quick overview way

Plus as I don't always just shoot with a single lens, it would be hard to remember which shots were done with which lens.

Thanks

Certainly not with Windows Explorer. In fact, I'm not sure even Adobe Bridge can sort by lens used? I must admit I've never tried.

I guess this answer was pretty useless, really... Sorry about that!

Here's a suggestion... Nikon lets you create/direct which folder to save your images to on the SD card... Simply create a folder for your lens, and then when you change the lens, change the menu setting that directs where on the SD card your images are saved... Then simply process your images from the SD card to your hard drives accordingly..

Lightroom will allow to pull out all your images taken with any particular lens. If you open up your catalogue in "Library" mode and view EXIF data you'll find that next to the lens type data is a button and when you hover your pointer over it it will say "View photos taken with this lens". Press that button and it will then extract all photos taken with that lens. For sorting purposes, you could then add the lens data as a keyword and in the future sort thru your catalogue via keywording to pull up that particular lens.

That made me chuckle!

I don't want to be messing around with where I store my images when I could be taking them instead, but it's a thought anyway - thanks :)

I don't have Lightroom (yet - still saving up for it), but I shall keep that in mind.

I was kinda hoping for a Windows Explorer answer which I know I won't get, but there's certainly some interesting options available to me for the future.

I guess if I download my pictures more regularly too, it will make the overall task less time :)

Thanks for all your advice :)
