All of those are just stunning, you definately made me second guess me getting my Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 That looks like a phenominal choice. Great pics!

Thanks Jeremy, I'm sure you'll get a lot of great shots with the 17-50 2.8. It's good to get a walk-around lens first, now you can start planning you're next lens :)

Sir, these pictures are EXCELLENT!! I see you shoot with a D5100. I was going to switch to a D700 but your photos make are making me think about it for a while...

Thanks Darrell, I'm looking to get a more pro body also, but I'm going to stick with Dx for various reasons. Rumors are a few new bodies in the next couple months, might be worth the wait.

Do you wish to share some of these reasons?

A few are size, weight and lenses. Cost is out there, but not in an affordability sense as most would think. I do a lot of shooting in hard to reach places and often my gear is at risk. I do not want to be climbing around with $4-5k worth of gear, I would be more worried about it than me. I absolutely love the 16-85vr and there is no Fx equivilant. The only Fx glass close to it is large and expensive (again size and weight). The 16-85 has the compact size due to it being f3.5, but the glass inside is on par with pro lenses (2 ED, 3 AS). This combination makes it small and extremely sharp. Tripods- I'd need to lug around a larger, heavier tripod if I go Fx, not something I want to do on a 5 mile hike!

All good points and I agree. I travel much too and don't like lugging all my gear around. I want to buy the 24-70 Nikkor, 2.8 soon. I hear it's a fantastic lens!
