Still experimenting. This time I am comparing RAW to JPEG. The first one is taken in jpeg and shopped and the second one is taken in RAW and shopped.

You really cannot compare a RAW and JPG after they have both been post processed. You wont get a good comparison. Generally speaking the camera makes adjustments to the raw image and converts it to a jpg. the raw image should be flat and more lackluster compared. Here, after your post processing, it looks over saturated with detail lost and it should not.

You also have dust on your lens or sensor...in the upper left

This is the first attempt at a close-up. I didn't know I could get this close with a kit lens. I LIKE it. I'll get better but it's nice to know I can get this close and have something still recognizable.
