Both are tools, and they're tools I use.

It probably isn't an issue on the higher end bodies as I imagine there's a dedicated switch/button to switch focus modes. But I found trying to change between AF-S and AF-C on a d3300 is time consuming and annoying as it has to be done via the LCD.

That was one of the main reasons I tried using the back button and I've never stopped using it since.
