Thank you.
I was looking at the wrens but couldn't make a clear identity. The closest was Bewick's, but I wasn't sure if wren was correct. I had to search for the beak shape to even come up with a wren at all.
I see Texas has both Bewicks and Carolina, I cant tell if the tail tip is whitish or not , the warm color tone suggests Carolina to me ,, but sure you could be right about it being Bewick's. If you have a musical ear maybe you could confirm by searching up an MP3 ?

I couldn't get a decent pic of all of the markings. At one point he looked a little golden on his back, but that might have been the afternoon sun. The one call I listened to online didn't sound like this bird. I will search around some more.

I have an image showing the underside of the tail. Looks like white tipped feathers.

I listened to some recordings. Pretty sure it is a Bewicks. The Carolina has a cute call. The Bewicks kind of yells at his partner. I think that is what got my attention.

Thanks for telling me it is a wren. I wasn't sure I had that correct even.

Challenge Team
I know. There isn't many participants in neither the challenges nor the monthly assignments. Not many people vote either. Why is that?

<Looking into my crystal ball and playing with my Quija Board> It is coming to me, give me a minute, I am seeing...

I wish I knew, but I think it is a matter of people wanting to shoot other things/methods than the Challenges Topics. They only have a certain amount of time to play/shoot, and they prefer using that time for other types of shoots. Some, as is proven by the 52 in 365, don't like to be challenged by having to shoot certain themes/topics. Last year when the 52 started, it was more or less set up for each to set up Topics/themes for the weeks and try to stick to the list. Some did just that and a few at that time just said they would not use a list, but would try to shoot something each week. This year it has more who have done the same thing, without a list per se. It is not a big deal as there aren't any set rules for the 52, except each person sets up their own guidelines/rules and then tries to stick to them for at least one shot per week for the year.

Having said all of that, my personal reason for doing any of the challenges is to push my comfort zone to try to improve. I look at it like a school assignment which gets me off of my behind and out to meet new "Challenges" in photography. Ha!

Looks like my 52 thread may be my birding attempt thread.

I was messing around with my camera setup when these cute birds landed in the yard. Boy are they quick and don't stay in one place very long. I was lucky to get a shot at all. I read that this is an abundant sparrow, but it is exotic to me. Maybe next year I will be saying, "Oh, that is just one of those Juncos." Naw, that won't happen. I like them too much.

Thanks to @cwgrizz for telling me about the Merlin app and to @Marilynne for the link. I used it to ID this bird. I had no clue I was so ignorant regarding common birds.

Ime very lazy, decided at my age ime entitled to be :D i will only shoot any challenge if it appeals to me and often only if i see a possible entry as ime walking round, too many years spent working to deadlines and schedules, this is my time. After saying that i do think they are all a good thing, even with my attitude towards them they do make me move out of my comfort zone on occasion.
