Post your Birds in Flight

LMFAO If ya kiss me it'll cost ya the D750 :D

Seriously, I will let you give it a go. I'll be trying out the 200-500 on the D7100 as well. Lately I've been getting a little frustrated with it however. When it's good, it's fantastic and spot on. When it's bad, I want to throw it on the ground.

Today I was shooting some deer. I had the 70-300 attached to the D7100 . I was sitting in the car with the deer almost next to me. Focused right on the eye. Could not for the life of me get the eyes clear and in total focus no matter what I tried.

I switched cameras, put the 70-300mm on the D750, and fired away. Every single shot the eyes were in total focus, and sharp.

Sometimes the D7100 focuses perfect, sometimes it's a crapshoot.

I can shoot a flying bird on my D750 far away, try and put the focus point anywhere near the eyes and it will be there EVERY time.

Haven't posted shots in a while. I wish these were better but this is a "life" bird for me - a Crested Caracara in NJ. These aren't supposed to be anywhere north of southern TX and parts of FL, but one decided to park it about 15 miles from my house so I went out and froze until it showed (24 degrees F when I got there). Not great shots, but something to prove I saw it.

Jake, I do trust that you saw it in NJ, but a lot of people would have to show me the GPS data for that shot. That Crested Caracara is seriously out of it's neighborhood!
