couldn't hurt to see what they are offering and how much it is going to cost you just to sign up. Do you continue to own the copyright and are you able to still sell your images even though they are listed on the getty site?

I will own the copyright but cannot sell them unless I make them limited editions etc. I can still use them for marketing though.

You retain the right:

To the copyright of your image.

To market images that are not the same as, or Similar (defined in the Agreement and FAQ) to what you place with us.

To choose which images to place with us, prior to final submission.

To keep the image you place with us in only personal, noncommercial photo-sharing services such as Flickr.

To sell limited edition, signed and/or numbered fine art prints. Or for images selected as RF, non-limited-edition prints, t-shirts, and other merchandise if you sell them directly (without a third party agent).

I am actually thinking I do not need to supply a stock agency my images and give them full rights. If my plans come to fruition in the coming years then it would be detrimental I think. Hmmmm

One has to think carefully about this. If you have a game plan, just make sure that immediate gratification (pat on the shoulder from a big agency) can block your options at a later time.

Under the appearance of a calm sea live a lot of sharks...
