Has anyone ever found the Nikon camera adjustment/alignment software available for sale to "mere civilians"?

I'd like to get my hands on it for educational purposes.

Is this possible? (Legally) What will it cost?

Are you talking about the software for fine tuning lenses? Or what?

Any of the above. Any software used to align or adjust or troubleshoot any Nikon camera or lens.

You can buy software to assist in the fine tuning of lenses if the camera you have supports this. Which Nikon do you have?

D200, D70, D40, D90, D3000, D3200, D5000, and a D800 on the way!

i think the only one that will work on is the D800. As far as I know anything below the D7000 does not have the option of fine tuning the lenses.

I'm just trying to answer the man's question. I'd expect anyone that owns that many cameras would have some modicum of an idea of what is available and what isn't... and would research any suggestions before stabbing himself in the wallet buying something that won't work.

You are correct... The only camera he has listed that can be focus fine-tuned is the D800
