Photo Upload -- Problems & questions

Thanks @mikew. I don't know what it is. I just finished deleting ALL of my browsing history and cookies. Something I don't like doing because of having to remember too many things (where it was and what it was). Ha! It still didn't do anything different in the upload area. I have tried the Flash, Standard, the Upload+ from the lower left corner of my gallery... I guess my Gallery just won't get any new images for now. Ha! I will just put images directly into my thread posts.

Now I really went and did it. I had tried everything I knew to try and then had one more idea. Create a new album. I did that under the Gallery Weekly Challenge Photos. As I created it, it looked like I would be able to delete it if things didn't work. It was created, but I still couldn't upload photos to it or My Gallery. Oh well, I will just delete the new album. Now there isn't an option to delete it either, so there is an album "Walt's Test" or something like that hanging as a sub-album to the album "Weekly Challenge Photos". If a moderator or some other power to be can delete it feel free. Ha!

Now I am back to square one. Ha!

I tried to delete a unused album,i clicked delete but it wouldn't go so i gave up and changed its name to awaiting use,then changed it again when i was ready.

@mikew I haven't found the option to change the album name or anything other than to subscribe.

Anyway a new wrinkle. I have been able to upload two photos to the new album and they appear, but................ Above each one it says something like "Waiting for Moderator action" or something like that. I was then able to delete them from that album. (Walt's Test Album). Earlier I had logged out of Nikonites, cleared all of my history and cookies and logged back in. That didn't help. I then saw where @jdeg had posted to try Ctrl F5. I did that and after that I was able to load the photos in the newly created album that I now can't get rid of. Ha! I still can't upload to "My Gallery" though.

It may be a misunderstanding on my part or a wording thing but i took the gallery to be my albums so if i can load into a album i thought that was my gallery.

Mike you are right. When you upload to Member Gallery it goes to your My Gallery. That is where I am having problems and can't upload a photo to.

To test things, however, I created a new album as a sub-folder to the Weekly Challenge Album (which may have been used experimentally in the past for the challenges). The next time you upload a photo to the Gallery, check the drop down menu and you will now see the following options: Member Gallery, Weekly Challenges, and the sub-folder Walt's Test Album. I can upload to Walt's Test Album, with the phrase above the photo, Moderator will approve (Not the exact wording, but something similar. Ha!)

Walt, I use FireFox and had no problems loading photos to my gallery just now.

Thanks Marilynne, I really find this very interesting and in some ways bizarre. Some have said that Chrome is all that will work for them. You are using FF which others have said won't work for them. I am beginning to think that no matter which browser you use, there are some hidden settings that one or the other browser just happens to have or not have set. Ha! Years ago I used FF, but it became so slow that it was as slower than drying paint in a rain storm. Originally I had no problems with Chrome. I guess if I get frustrated enough, I may break down and load FF, but for now I think I will try to get Chrome to work (testing out IE and Edge too). The other bizarre thing to me is that I can upload to one Gallery, but not another. That doesn't make sense to me, unless My Gallery had a glitch which is restricting me.

OK, I think I have eliminated almost all possibilities of a problem on my end. Three different computers, three different OS's and all browsers (except safari). Same exact result on all. OS list: Win10, Win Vista, and Linux. Browsers: Chrome, Windows Edge, IE 11, and Firefox. I have conclusively decided that I am an outcast who has lost my rights. Ha!! I think the fix is going to be up to someone who can tweak my permissions. Until then, I will accept my punishment and stay in the corner. LOL

I'm sorry you guys are having issues. For some reason @cwgrizz , your images are going to the moderation queue. I can't get them out of there because of another bug. I'll take a closer look at this and post here if I find anything.

FYI, the gallery software we use is no longer supported by the software vendor, and unfortunately there is no viable alternative without switching platforms. Hence bugs

Also, the flash uploader is broken and will probably never be fixed. I should just remove it.
