I don't know if it got it down. Several times while it was trying it would dive. I assume he would let it go and catch it closer to the way it needed it to be to get down. When at the last picture I shot another bird was coming towards him obviously to try and steal it. He dove and so did the other one. A minute later they both came up and no sign of the fish. Not sure if one of them got it down or it got away in the fight for it.
