This was a lucky shot, as it was windy the flower kept moving, just for a second the wind stopped, and I pressed the shutter button.

Still need to have a serious talk with you, this was not a lucky shot :D it goes like this.

Really struggled to get this, the fly didnt stay long the wind was blowing and i had to time my shot perfectly, now which sounds better :D

:D, I waited for 20 minutes for a fly to land on this flower, pins and needles in my hands and feet, but I persevered to get this one shot,

Yes that sounds better, getting the hang of this now :)

When I was setting up for this picture, the spider (about 2mm long) got scared and went to hide. Made the set up more difficult, but at least the spider sat still.

Now I am pissed, lol. I been working on ants and have come up with zero, they are quick. Very good shot, the small insects become so translucent I expect to see innards sometime.

Looks like an Argentine. About 3mm long?
Yes I would say around 3mm, this is using the 60mm at 2:1 alot harder than 1:1 but I love how close I can get and the detail. Going to try for more tomorrow.

This is yet another amazing macro shot.

Are you willing to share your technique ?

How do you get such large magnification ? is it just resized in photoshop?

How do you light the shot.? when your exif shows 1/200th sec at f/20 at ISO100 and exp comp of 0.67 EV

Thanks

Yes, cropped and enlarged to size. I use a SB 700 with the built in front diffuser; I generally set it at 1/4 power with wide spread. Depending on the ambient light, I use f18-f22.

I had to get home from the department to add this -- the original, just resized for posting
