So what is your favorite or newest gadget? I'll start. I'm into Macro and recently bought a RRS Macro slide and also a CamRanger that wirelessly controls my camera through my iPad. Love them both!

Got a set of extension tubes today and had 5 minutes to try them out in my lunch break, think I'm going to have fun with them.

Not the best shot, DoF is too shallow and its windy here today; but I can see the potential.

My favorite new gadgets are the Phottix TTL remote flash triggers that can also be used as a remote control camera trigger. Easier to use than trying to program Commander mode and remote modes, or if my remote Speedlights are facing away from the on-camera commander flash (such as a Speedlight in an umbrella or behind me)... plus my ringflash is not supported by the Nikon commander mode anyway, so I can use that flash, too, with the Phottix triggers. (Obviously, the TTL feature does not work on flashes if they are set on manual or lack that feature.)

Which Phottix model did you go with? Odin or Stratos?

I got the Strato, one trigger and three remotes. They work great using TTL metering with my two Speedlights, and they can trigger my Paul Buff ringflash but everything has to be in manual mode. Using these triggers instead of the Commander mode on the built in flash lets me put a remote flash behind the subject, if desired, as here:

I will admit, however, that I don't know the difference between the Strato and the Odin, so maybe the other had some advantages I didn't get, in either price or function.

EDITED TO ADD: second photo. An article posted elsewhere said PNG files can display better on websites, so I converted the same pic over to PNG. First one is JPEG.

I have an insulated belt carrier that holds a pint bottle of Smith's Nut Brown Ale perfectly -- does that count? Just the ticket when the birds are being bothersome shy.

I have a few less useful gadgets - e.g. flash bracket. But the most useful was one of the cheapest. That little $2.00 remote control button thing on ebay. The genuine Nikon is called the ML-L3 but I have the cheap knock offs, one for each bag and a couple of spares. Just checked, currently under $2.00 with free shipping. Can't even buy a battery for that price. And every one I bought works just dandy. I also have a wired remote that allows for long exposure, time-lapse exposure, and it can double as a wireless remote too. The one I have is the Yonguo Shutter Release.

Looking to get some new gadgets - extension tubes and flash triggers (debating value of these over the CLS system).
