The farmer we lease our land to had a few problems last fall and didn't get the corn out of the lower field. It makes a great, but expensive, feed lot for the turkeys and deer. I caught some turkeys still roosting this morning with the DST change.

1/1600s would be overkill on a tripod.

All handheld, I never pod birds.

Sometimes cropping is necessary to get the desired result, like in this case. That shouldn't be an issue or a concern.

I don't mind cropping but for this result even 100% didn't cut it. The 100% was 60-70% of this size and I had to enlarge that one to get it big enough for here.

Hi, its a common buzzard Buteo buteo, i am seeing these gorgeous raptors more and more lately.

I think over here, we call them "Broad-winged Hawk", but they're smaller. Buteo platypterus Very similar.

Ah. Thanks. Either way, they are nice looking.

I might redo this one to tweak some parts. The shot turned out better than expected. I got the Coot at the right moment to freeze a nice pose.

Closer to a Rough Legged Hawk over here note the black in the the "elbows" for less of a better word Broad winged hawk is more like a Red-Shouldered
