Only a couple of shots today before the rain drove me back inside.

Never knew they could fly and turn their head upside down J-see.

He's reenacting The Exorcist. ;)

After being in the water, they always shake it off when in flight again. Usually it is two or three times they do this and when you freeze them at the right moment, you get these twisted shots.

Snapped a few test shots with the Tokina 100-300 f/4. All of these are pretty heavily cropped. IMHO, this lens has already passed the test … even before I really put it to the test.

Testing some older shots. This is a reasonable crop doubled up. I might triple or quadruple it next time, process and de-noise and then rescale smaller. That should lead to cleaner results.

Me too , Hard to photograph but, one of the few birds with enough wit to goof around.

Last year I watched a nesting crow from the first stick being laid to the three fledglings leaving the nest. The nest was begun on Feb., 22. This year they started the nest in the same spot, repairing what was there from last year and adding to it on Feb., 27. Crows are very caring parents and a joy to watch. The nest is on top of a boxed flood light, under the eaves of a five story cell-block of the prison where I work.

The wildlife is abundant on the prison grounds, but under no circumstances am I allowed to bring a camera to work. :(

I got some reasonable shots in today. There might even be better than this but there's finally some sun so I got no time to check them all.
