Chris said to let you guys know he really enjoyed your company and can't wait to do it again next year. He also wants to thank you for retracing your tracks for us. It was very kind. That goes for me too!!

I think we all got some good shots from our back-track.

I am pleased that Chris was able to make the trip and I was able to meet him. I look forward to a reunion next year.

Do you think your legs would have held out after six hours?? Mine were dead after four. Guess I needed to rest more at those sturdy (?) benches. BTW, did anyone get a shot of them??
Ha ha ha some of them looked really bad especially the one leaning towards the swamp

If you want to see vultures Keith, black or turkey (red head), you have to come visit my end of the state. They're everywhere!!!

Who's Keith

There's vultures everywhere down there the Black was one I never too a pic of before.
Added up my sightings for the 10 days down there I seen 61 different species of birds most I got on camera and 5 lifers for me only the Loggerhead Shrike I didn't get on camera next year I'm shooting for 70

No Problem I've been called worse :D

Remember the ditty "You can call me Ray, you can call me Jay, but you doesn't have to call me Johnson!"?

Saw the doctor today, and he poked an prodded my foot in so many ways. It's not broken, but my Achilles Tendon is in too much tension. He told me I have to do some serious stretching each day to get it back into proper form. Not sure what caused it, but it may have been caused by any number of things. No surgery and no boot for now. Yeah!

Good news Wayne (that it's not broken), so I guess six hours walking did some serious stretching!!

Nice, Rodbender! This reminds me of an episode that occurred at my parent's neighbors a few years ago. Their two grandchildren were eating Cheerios outside at the pic-a-nic table, when a couple of Sandhill's flew in and just strode over and helped themselves. Even with one of the kids screaming and recoiling in horror, the birds acted like it was no big deal. Of course, as soon as one of the adults moved to go get a camera, the birds bolted.

My guess is that they get fed a bit around there, and was interested in what you might have for it to eat, but is very happy to not be in the cold with you right now! Burr!
