Yeah but they are a fair way from the airport with their landing gear down. Maybe the pilot didn't like the storm we got come through :)

Didn't notice the landing gear down. Did they land? Just thinking maybe there was some drama in your area.

I like your new Akubra :D

Asiatic gecko 'I think'

Not sure they are same as the Asian house geckos that have taken over Brisbane I don't think. I seem to recall them having a more mottled appearance. My memory could be flawed tho :D

How is everyones day going? Mine was nice and quiet until I got a knock on the door saying that I had a phone call lol, apparently my mate and work mate was a bit stuck and needed another winch.

After some shovelling, jacking and filling holes with trees I managed to drag his arse out of the muddy crap.

Ahh, the memories.
I managed to get myself into a similar situation a few years ago. With the tide coming in and about to cut me off, I ended up running the winch cable under the car and hooking onto the biggest tree behind me, I ended up getting out, but had to replace my winch cable when I got home. The tree was left with a 45 degree lean as well .

Are we telling winching stories? Hand winch up a sand dune in the Simpson. Took hours. The vehicle had a busted gearbox ( he also had an electric winch but a very flat battery). Our mate towed him 800k's to the Alice.

Whistling kites....great shots Scott. Their call, along with corellas and crows always remind me of the outback :D
