Epson R2000 vs. 2 Canon Pro printers

I"m looking for a printer that prints larger than 8.5" x 11" photos and am considering either the Epson R2000, the Canon Pro-1 printer (which is massively heavy), or the less expensive Canon Pro-100. What are the pros/cons of them? Currently I am using a Canon printer and love the print quality although it isn't one of their Pro models--I want something that will print larger. Any suggestions? Many thanks! :)

Canon Pro-1: Canon PIXMA PRO-1 Network Professional Inkjet Photo 4786B002 B&H

Canon Pro-100: Canon PRO 100 PIXMA Wireless Professional Inkjet Photo 6228B002

I've got the R2000 and like it a lot, though it seems to give me fits at times loading heavier art papers (a false "jam"/misfeed). I've learned to deal with it (I've stopped cursing most of the time), and I found a place where I can get real Espon ink for <$30 for the set of 8, so I can't complain. Lots of great printers out there.

I'm still deciding, but due to the expense of the Canon Pro-1 (and the fact that I won't use it extensively), I don't think I will consider this one right now. So I'm down to the Canon Pro-100 and the Epson R2000. The Canon is much heavier than the Epson although I don't intend to move it around. Still reading reviews on both of these, too. Any additional comments are welcomed. Thanks! ;)

I believe I will go with the Epson R2000. It's been on my radar ever since watching Olympic photographer Jeff Cable's video saying he shoots Bar Mitzvahs then runs home during a break to edit a photo. He uses this printer with Velvet Paper then frames the photo and returns before the guests arrive for the evening. The photo is set up near the entrance...and he claims the people ooo and ahhh over it which results in print sales.

This printer does get rave reviews so I will give it a shot (no pun intended). ;)

Jake, will you please let me know where you buy your ink cartridges? Are they brand or aftermarket? Thanks!

Yes, I checked out the differences in cost for ink refills, but the Epson still won out. ;)

One click, and it doesn't take a lot of looking...

Amazon.com: Epson UltraChrome Hi-Gloss 2 Ink Cartridges for Epson Stylus R2000 Photo Printer (Set of 8): Electronics

These are, from everything I and the folks who have answered questions on Amazon can find, OEM inks. I have seen no differences with these and the original ink that came with the printer, and my only issue thus far as been that one of the orange inks showed as empty when new - something quickly remedied by Amazon's hassle free return policy. They come out of the box and taped together, so I do not know if they are past any expiration dates or anything else, but I have to say that I pretty much don't care if they are because they perform perfectly for me.

Terrific info, Jake. Thanks for letting us know. ;)
