well, PW are great. they have their quirks and for the money vs quirks they are overpriced. I dont think one needs to spend so much money for great slaves today and you get excellent features for 1/4 of the price with yongnuo slaves. they have the 602/603/605/622.
but let me ask, in what environments do you want to shoot with them and what flashes/cameras do you use? What do you shoot?
this is besides the point, but my personal opinion is they wont last two years before going under. I think they fired some 20 folks from their staff and closed the europe branch if im not mistaken. the competition from the asian market is dominating and stealing their sales.
Well, I have a $100 B&H gift card not sure what to get. I have a D600, D800E, D7100 and D90. And, speed-light SB700. And a cheap promaster light set. I don't have enough experience with lights so, that's why. So, light-meter or wireless flash triggers. Thanks so much for your advice.

In what situations will u use them? portraits which can be indoors/studio or outdoor/location, events, or still life? just dont know what you want to shoot.
personally, id say save your money. they have been the standard for many years because all the low cost options werent reliable were crap build and basically you got what you payed for. today, it simply isnt the case. I have 6 x yongnuo 622 slaves. it has HSS and TTL shooting. both which I hardly ever used. even outdoors I never pass Xsync (1/250).
personally, id recommend the 603II set

it has a pass through TTL shoe so your on camera flash (SB700) will still give you that and if your promaster flashes have a sync port then with a cable you can connect the slave to that and have the one on the camera fire it with cable. it doesnt have groups though. which basically means that if for instance youre shooting 4 flashes in a studio setup you can turn off one or the other or any combination. you would have to turn that slaves on/off by walking over to it and doing it manually. small limit though as I have groups on the 622 and never use it.
I dont know your skill/knowledge level so I may say things that are things you know.

as far as light meters go, if you have the money then one that does incident reflective and spot metering to 1/3 stops is what youll want. personally I dont think you need one at this time because with digital, you can shoot, change your setting and hone down your exposure. it is good to know how to use one though. its the basics as far as im concerned.
most are afraid to play with flash. dont understand it and its overhwleming to many. its the reason people say "I hate using flash" or "Im a natural light photographer" but its not true, its just that people dont know how to use flash to get a seamless blend of flash and ambient.

no. not at all. problem is, the promaster light doesnt have a flash foot like the SB700 so the way youd connect the 603II to the promaster is using a sync cable. PC to phono PC.
you connect one side into the pc connection in the 603 then use the long banana/photo end into the slave, the other slave on the camera, set the channels the same and POP! best way to go about it.
I think your flash an optic slave in it (the red light over the sync port) but personally Ive never used an optic slave for the longest time. the radio slaves work and work.
oh btw, if later on you want to purchase a speedlight to use on a light stand (known as off camera flash OCF) then you can get a yongnuo 560 IV or III that has a 603II receiver in it so you dont even need to connect one salve to the flash. just put it in slave mode, set channel and youre G2G.
