theyre just overworked IMO. so there is fatigue and tolerences arent great and this is what we see. id rather have a japanese made product over any other asian co. thailand, china, whatever. they have very high work ethics vs the others and theres no denying that. they have a mindset of serving the company vs the others who simply go there to have money to live. the Japanese take more pride in what they do. the rest couldnt give a rats ass.
I think the only reason why nikon produces there's in thailand is to save money but its obvious QC is crap. too many issues the last few years.
My best bud uses two D4s. one is 3 months old. af issue on the new one and he hass to put it in a lab. he bought a 70-200VR2 5 years back. VR and AF is not workig properly and he didnt want to deal with repair so he bought another VR2. it too has issues now. what garbage QC and build quality.
lets not mention the rubber grips that falling apart on that lens as well.

I would not necessarily blame any defect on the country of production. Let's not forget they have become that cheap they no longer include 0.02$ covers so it's not hard to imagine they cut costs everywhere else too.

We buy cams based upon hardware specifics and technological quality. If they cost 50 or a hundred dollars more or less makes no difference once you go to the better ones.
So all this cutting costs to save some cent is purely self-centered and profit oriented.

If they'd replace the cam with a new one, I'd not hesitate jumping on that opportunity but if they just fumble around inside to fix it, I'd pass. If they'd fix it perfectly, I would not win anything but if they'd do a less than perfect job, I'd end up doing worse too.

The way I saw Japanese drink, the hangover could happen any day of the week.
I didn't read the review but I can do it with the D3300 so it'll not be unique. If it's the shutter curtain, all anyone needs to do is find the angle that makes it bounce right before.
I guess the better the coating on the lens, the less the effect will be. It says plenty about my lenses too I fear.

didnt you say it was a non issue and you dont want a fix at all? that it doesnt bother you? so if they do replace them with one that doesnt have the leak you do want one..? all your non stop posts arguing how its not an issue but as soon as theyll replace them with properly working ones, youre in, right? so why all the fuss if its a non issue?
depends who you ask. ask a pro and hell tell you, no way to play this down. no way to take a chance. it can peep in at the most critical time. especially for videographers. for the enthusiast/hobbyist/amateur it can be a non issue. mostly those who shoot lightly wont mind and those whos rep depends on it and get paid will definitely mind. most at nasims website are hobbyists.
nikon will address the issue but I dont know what the solution will be. might be an easy fix. who knows.
Of course I consider it a non-issue but if they'd replace the shutter and I could restart with a virgin one, I'd be utterly mad to not jump on the opportunity. It not being an issue for me doesn't imply I won't be opportunistic when I can get an advantage.

1- you bombard the site with pictures proving the leak is there arguing its not an issue, playing it down. others see this and then have reassurance that its fine and no need to worry at all. thats its very difficult to produce and no need to worry about it. then..
2-you open an account (rangioran) and immediately like your own posts and "disagreed" on all mine. then after I posted the obvious, that profile liked one of my comments.
no one who is new would do such a thing. usually people who are new tread slowly, or post a question thats urgent to them.
3-you put down two other photographers who posted video footage showing their cameras are infected which shows your insecurity.
4-when I said it is a problem because we shoot backlit ALL he time and pros do it ALL the time. your reply is "If you take such shots, you shouldn't charge people money. That's all I can say." and then your other comment was Then the pros in your country are lucky. Here they hide between the ducks when I go feed them bread crumbs in the park.

Second, I always said the leak isn't a leak and is a "normal" occurrence during rare circumstances and can be solved faster than it takes to cry about in a post.
Third, it being a non-issue doesn't mean it can't become an issue. If such is the case, being an opportunist and taking advantage is simply the most sensible thing to do. If you consider that hypocritical; fine with me. I consider not doing it foolish.

so just hush about it, dont post tons of stuff playing it down. wait for nikon to fix it instead of non stop ceiling pictures. we would rather not have the problem than have it. And I say WE because im planning to buy it for video when it gets fixed. thats what my posts are for. youre slowing it down. youre being a hypocrite. dont tell others its not an issue but then "yea I want a replacement". so it is an issue if you do.
pro is a person who makes money from photography.
I plan on buying Buckingham Palace so please no more remarks about how the roof might leak.
Pro is a person who lives purely of his cam. The rest of us are amateurs.

I live off my talent. the camera is just a tool. give a D4s to an amateur/amateur/enthusiast and give me a D3300 and well see what we each can do.

If I'm not mistaken I said this isn't worth having words about quite some posts ago but apparently you can't let go.
Look, you're not the smartest kid on the block. This accusation about me making another account speaks volumes. Considering we experience reality as we perceive it, the projection of yours on mine does too.
If you don't like that I dismiss the issue, that's your problem not mine. Buy a D750 and you are entitled to do the same or scream until our ears bleed that it ruins all your shots.
Until then, just remain silent.
