Hi - is it possible to use a teleconverter on this lens? I have a Vivitar Series 1 70-210 and I don't believe one will work on that lens. How do you like the AF performance on this lens? Thanks!

Liking it so far but it is not super fast. But for the subject matter I will use it on it will not matter. Mostly I will be compressing landscapes and getting close ups of flowers that I cannot otherwise get closer to. Do not know about the teleconverters but the dreaded "Rockwell Site" might say.

Yep, so far so good. I really like the files I get and the high ISO noise is easy to deal with if you get the right exposure. The 18-35 is going to take a little getting used to with its distortion but I've gotten a few pretty good test shots with it. I don't know about the weather resistance on Nikon gear so I'll have to wait until the **** stops.

I noticed the same with the 18-35. There's quite some distortion at 18mm especially and while it can be fixed in post (some requires manual), if you take a shot at the wrong angle or too closely framed, you'll either have to live with the distortion or when trying to fix, lose the shot.

It's something to get used to.

As I continue to save for the 70-200mm (looking toward the Tamron VC), I purchased a nice/used 35mm 1.8G for $125 this week. Hope to run a bit of shots through it this week to try it out on my D7100 :)

I have my Nikkor 70-210 f4 on ebay as well.
