Pat, I hope you have as much fun with your lens as I have with mine. I am glad you were able to get one so quick!

First thoughts.... I love the lens... It is BIG and HEAVY :)
smooth zoom.... smooth focus and the focus was surprising fast & quiet
Did I mention it was BIG :)

I do need to watch my shutter speed as I should aperture priority and it is easy to creep a bit slow.

It is not an everyday lens but when I go to the refuge looking for wildlife, you can bet it will be mounted...

Thats just what its turned into for me :D

I have to agree that it is very hard to take this lens off my camera and change or exchange it for another lens. It just seems to belong on my camera. I think it will take a while for the new to ware off using this Tamron zoom lens!!!

Well, I have not taken it off but once since I got it... :) Mostly been heading out for wildlife and hence it stays on! I took it off to use my 50mm one day! When I start start back in on city and landscape, it will be replaced... (for a bit!)

Ok, yesterday I road to S Carolina for a BBQ Lunch... I had been in touch with a young lady from Ukraine who is traveling around the world on a motorcycle. She was needing lodging for a couple days in Savannah, so I offered my home, but she needed to meet me in SC for lunch then we would ride on down. Here are a couple links to her trip...
