Newbie with DSLRs

Hi, im new to this forum, i've been reading it for a week or so and decided to register. Here are three of photos i took not so long. Want some feedback since im new to DSLR photography. The photos are nothing special, i think i shot the 3 of them on the same day couple days after i bought the camera so i was just trying to experiment. Thank you :)

Nice shots. What post work have these had? The first one the highlights are blown out a bit and would look better without the portion of concrete wall in the lower left corner. The second looks like the red bumpers on the boats are to saturated but I really like the image. Nice exposure. The third would look better without the pier in the background so maybe crop a little or have more of it. Wondering if a polarizer would have tamed down some of the water glare in the third. I don't mean to nit pic but someone asks well, we're going to look for anything from minor to what the hell were you thinking. LOL.

Hi thanks for the comments, i posted this for you guys to critique this image so i can improve myself not to get nice comments.
The first photo i could not get any closer so i could get out the concrete thing at the lower left corner. I tend to oversaturate the photos, im using Photoschop CS6 and Lightroom 5.3
For the third photo i did not have a polarizer filter at that time, i used an ND filter and tried to make the water look like smoke but it was too bright and i failed.

On the first shot the sky is a little blown out; expose for the highlights next time. Also the bottom left edge and right corner both have some distracting junk with the concrete and the bush. Corners and edges will kill your shots if they're not clean. Watch your corners and edges always.

Second shot would look better if the horizon was leveled and if the central boat was a little more off center, heading more "into" the frame. Still, it's a decent shot, just needs some tweaking.

Third shot has a distracting element on the top edge that's really hurting it. The boat should also have some room to be moving INTO the frame, not out of it. This is just a basic rule of composition.

Three things that will help: 1. Every photo needs a clear subject. 2. Watch your edges and corners before taking the shot and, 3. Learn to use the Rule of Thirds when composing.

I would suggest watching your shutter speed, mostly in the third one...I looked at the EXIF data and I've never see a shutter speed of 13/10, but you can tell it was too long.
